Training your own staff in deaf awareness is easier than you think and very cost effective. The GDA Training pack includes everything you need to roll out training throughout your organisation.
The course provides a practical, informative and knowledge based approach. We provide everything your trainers need; thorough training guide and presentation notes, PowerPoint slides, thought provoking exercises and tests. We can even train your trainers to help extend their knowledge and build up confidence in delivering the course.
All staff completing the course will receive an official Signature attendance certificate - great for hanging on the wall or including in your CPD file.
The course covers three areas:
How to recognise if someone is deaf or hard of hearing and the terms used to describe deafness.
The do's and don'ts when communicating with deaf people, basic communication tactics, and how to get the environment right.
